QC Welding inspector late shift

Nouvall Engineering Services is specialized in project support for the (petro) chemical and maritime industry. We provide expertise in the field of Engineering, Project Management, Maintenance, Shutdowns, Construction and Safety.

His function will be to review how the different contractors are working for the project plan, organize, prepare, and execute the construction activities with emphasis on quality and safety to guarantee a safe workspace for all. He will provide active input to Construction Manager/project team and Contractors as well as liaison with day shift. Quality Inspector and the Tertre Quality Department. He will also review quality procedures as well as do supervision of construction activities during TA where the quality is of highest importance for the works. The overall management of the Inspection Plan during construction together with the Contractor and day team will be his main task.

• Understand and implement the HES requirements.
• Proactively interacts with Project Management & Construction Team to ensure quality issues are effectively managed in accordance to project standards and requirements.
• Liaise with daily team so no contradictory information is given to Contractors and/or Construction team.
• Promotes a Quality culture on the project, ensuring implementation of best practices and continuous improvement.
• Review the technical QA/QC related Vendors and Contractors documents such as Quality Plans and ITPs (Inspection and Testing Plans) based on regulations, specifications, codes and norms, best practices and risk assessments.
• Ensure that critical and special quality inspections at Site are followed up and attended by qualified inspectors, relevant Yara engineers and plant representatives.
• Ensure inspections are properly and timely organized and recorded in agreed inspection report templates and any technical QC related issues are timely followed up in cooperation with the engineers.
• Monitor that non-conformities in the inspection reports are identified, analyzed and handled per Non-Conformity mechanism and procedure
• Ensure that the vendors/contractors resolve the non-conformances by means of approved procedures.
• Follow up Contractor implementation of the accepted QC system in manufacturing and construction.
• Communicate inspections findings and issues with the Project Team
• Identify, report and follow up any risks that may adversely impact the outcome of the QC process.
• Interact with TPO’s and Yara Inspection network as needed and support as necessary.

• Experience with QC process
• Experience with inspections of Fertilizer Industry static equipment (shutdown, breakdown inspection…)
• Experience with fabrication/construction process in a similar position
• Familiar with chemical Industry process plants
• Knowledge of English/ French
• Preferable VCA-VOL
• Preferable certified NDT Level III

• An intense project in a weekly schedule of 6 days in a row, 10 hours a Day from 14h till 0h
• Working during a shutdown on a defined project with a US Contractor
• A good daily rate
• Help in finding a place to stay
